Farmonaut promotes satellite tools for mineral mapping, but industry uptake in Argentina remains unconfirmed
15 Jul 2025

Argentina is racing to boost its lithium output, and new tech is entering the scene. One unlikely player? Farmonaut, a company better known for helping farmers.
Now, it is offering AI and satellite tools to scan the ground for lithium. The idea is to use satellite images and machine learning to spot signs of lithium below the surface. Farmonaut claims its system can analyze huge areas in just one day, far faster than traditional methods.
That could be a big deal. As the world shifts to electric vehicles and battery storage, lithium demand is soaring. Faster, cheaper, and less damaging ways to explore it are badly needed.
Farmonaut’s pitch fits that need. But there is a catch: there's no solid evidence the company’s tech is actually being used in Argentina's lithium sector. No deals. No discoveries. No mining companies announcing partnerships.
Other players in the region are starting to use advanced imaging and AI, but Farmonaut is not yet part of that story.
Still, the potential is there. If Farmonaut can show real results, it might win a place in Argentina’s high-stakes lithium game.
For now, though, it is more promise than proof.
